Marc Barron
Co-Founder and Managing Partner
Marc leads investor relationships, business operations, growth strategy and the systems behind the client experience at Vertical Infill Partners.
Marc has spent more than a decade building and scaling technology companies. As a co-founder of CourseKey, he helped take the company from an idea to a leading software platform for career-focused higher education. Along the way the company raised more than $20 million in venture capital, developed patented technology on which Marc is a co-inventor, and was acquired by private equity.
He went on to serve as Chief Revenue Officer of Portico, a private equity backed software platform formed through the integration of four companies, where he led enterprise sales, revenue operations, partnerships, pricing, forecasting and board reporting.
Marc has served on the board of Startup San Diego and the advisory board of San Diego State University's ZIP Launchpad, and as a Techstars mentor.
At VIP, he brings the operating discipline of a private equity backed company to development: rigorous underwriting, structured decision points and consistent, candid communication with owners.
